RESEARCH OPPORTUNITIES

Ph.D. Studentship:
Prospective PhD candidates who are creative, highly motivated & willing to work in a multidisciplinary environment on challenging scientific projects are welcome to apply.
The current projects are broadly based on RNAi, microRNAs, epigenomics and disease biology (cancer and neurodegenerative diseases) integrating both experimental and bioinformatics approaches.

Desirable Experiences:

Applicants interested to work on experimental projects should have strong background in biotechnology or molecular biology with sufficient expertise in commonly used molecular biology tools and/or cell culture techniques.
Prior working experience with RNAi would be an added advantage.
Applicants interested to work on bioinformatics projects should have strong background in computer science/bioinformatics/statistics or any branch of biological sciences with sufficient skills in any of the programming languages (Perl/Java/R/C/C++). A background in computational genomics would be an advantage.
Prior experience in using existing bioinformatic programs and tools for genome analysis, biological soft computing and pattern recognition, microarray data analysis, knowledge of public genomic databases & parsing data from databases is a plus.
Strong programming skills are essential.
Additionally, the prospective candidates for PhD should have M.Sc/MTech and must have qualified at least GATE/NET-LS OR may have qualified JRF examination from any of the following Govt of India funding agencies- CSIR/UGC/DBT/ICMR.

Student Internship/Training:

Students interested for summer internship in our lab during the months of May to July should apply through SRF programme conducted by three national Science Academies of India.
Our Institute as well provide summer internship which is advertised well in advance on our Institute website (www.nitrkl.ac.in).
Our lab at present do not accept students for training who are not selected through above two routes.
Project Openings
We will be recruiting JRFs/SRFs leading to their Ph.D in a sponsored project.
